Growing up my mom used to always make buttermilk pie around the holidays and considering my disdain for baked fruits and pecans, it was the only pie I would eat. Though my pallet has matured over time and I can now enjoy a good apple pie, buttermilk is still my favorite, and no buttermilk pie beats my mother’s recipe. It’s one of the simplest and quickest pies to make and aside from the buttermilk you probably have all of the ingredients in your kitchen already. Enjoy!
What You’ll Need:
3 eggs, beaten
3 tablespoons flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extracy
1 pie crust fitted into a 9-inch pie plate, chilled
1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.) In large bowl whisk together eggs, flour, and sugar. Whisk togethers buttermilk and sugar alternatively. Whisk in vanilla.
3.) pour liquid into pie crust. Bake for 45-55 mins or until filling is set & until golden on top.
